BKK once again..♥BlogItemTitle$> ♥
4:33 PM
Booked our tickets at the NATAS fair.. It's always NATAS fault... LOL!! I think we got a better deal the other time, travel via SQ and a complimentary one night stay... Oh well..
Traveled via Thai airways, 4D 3N BKK (26-29March). This time round, we took the earliest flight and flew off on a friday. Made plans to go to Chatuchak weekend market, the rest of the plans are more or less the same..
Stayed over at Baby's house, our flight was 0810. But Baby misread the timing, he thought it was 0710. We set the alarm at 0200.. I didn't sleep a wink before our flight, weather was so hot and we went to bed about 0100.. If I sleep, confirm knock out de.. 0215, I woke Baby up so that he could prepare.. Preparations done, we left at 0300.... Took a cab to airpot, without knowing that we were super early..
Silly us had no place to go, skytrains ain't available yet, then we wanted to slack at Popeye... But they're not even open yet..
OMG!! So early!! So we choose to have some bites at Killiney Kopitiam.. Super early breakfast or should I say supper? Toast bread, eggs and tea... Time seems so slow......
Since there's no Thai Airways staff working yet, we had no other choice but to sit own and wait... Took some pictures to kill our boredom!!
When it was close to 0530, the counter staffs finally came... Thank God, cause we were bored to the max!
View from the transit ladies =)
Took the skytrain to T2, Baby's sudden cravings for sushi in the morning...
After the satisfaction of his early morning craving, we took the sytrain back to T1.. Off to our boarding gate area...
We went all the way to the back, cause our boarding gate had no empty seats... Forever using his phone when there's plenty of time...
Pumping fuel into our aircraft...
It's been quite awhile since I saw non-budget flights without the TV.. Boring! Thank god, its only a 2 hours flight!!
Off we go.. Traffic was pretty heavy so we waited quite awhile before reaching the runway...
The fluffly look alike cotton candy..
Was about to fall asleep, then they were commencing meal service... I was getting alittle sleepy... Food cannot be compared to SQ.. I only ate half of my fish with rice... Hungry baby ate my other half...
His chicken noodle..
The pilot skills are great, landing at Suvanabhumi was so smooth.. Best that I have ever sat..
We choose to stay at Amari Watergate for this trip.. The only advantage is, its just so near platinum mall.. Rooms are definitely more well furnished and comfortable, DVD player are provided in the room, the TV is wonderful, the room is so much cleaner and the bed is super comfortable.. The hotel lobby is also more classy.. Complimentary breakfast is much tastier.. Hotel staff except the concierge and bell boys are just so unfriendly and SLOW!
We reached the hotel at 1100.. So we were told to have our lunch and shop around the area and return about 1400 as our room were not ready.. Check-out timing is 12noon, by the time they make the room and stuff.. 1400 is always the check-in timings for all hotels.. So we shopped around, had lunch and came back at 1400.. Then the lday told us that our room is still not ready.. And we were told to wait at the hotel lobby, and she'll come and talk to us.. Waited like idiots at the lobby, and she was so busy serving people.. Worst, her other colleagues are so free.. Why can't she seek help from her colleagues.?? It's already 1445, and no one came over to help us.. Neither did she came over to appologise to us!! Waste my time sitting there, I wanna rest and bath then head out to shop.. Even the bellboy was more sensitive, I guessed he sensed my anger and told the manager to help out in the check-in procedures.. Like wth... Make me wait for nothing, didn't appologize to me.. In less than 2minutes, I was given the room key.. ZzzzzzzzZZzzzz
Its one of the worst experience ever... Make me lose my temper on the first day..
I still prefer Baiyoke Sky hotel.. There are many reason why I prefer Baiyoke to Amari:
- Baiyoke provides free shuttle service to Siam discovery ( town of BKK ), saves money on taxis although
taxis fare is so cheap..
- The hotel staff are more efficient and friendly.
- I always get to alight at the hotel entrance.
- I get a bird's eye view of BKK..
- There isn't a need to climb up a steep slope to get to the hotel lobby. ( when you're dead tired, this makes a
difference.)
- The massage place I frequent is just 3mins walk away from Baiyoke.
- There's a mini mart at the hotel lobby.
The above reasons are good enough for me to return back to Baiyoke instead of Amari... Such a huge disappointment.........
*will update again...
