Japan - Tokyo Day 2

Ohayoo gozaimasu!

Rise and shine lazy bum me. Woke up around 0730 to wash up before heading down for buffet breakfast at Cross Dine. Pretty excited cuz for the first time I'm waking up in Tokyo, seeing Tokyo's sun and inhaling the air..

view from our room - packed with buildings.

do we look alike?

This was a portion of what we ate. Scrambled eggs were very well-done, miso soup was of course their specialty and the dumpling with lots of yummy pork fillings.

drank 3 bowls of miso soup all by myself.

Very pretty cake sold by the hotel bakery. I have a soft spot for pretty cakes!

and there's a church in our hotel, where weddings are being held

So after breakfast went back to bath before heading out, to walk around the shopping malls near our hotel cause there was no plans being made for today, only from day 3 onwards.

Anyway our hotel is situated like 2minutes away from the shopping malls - Tobu Dept Store, Metropolitan Plaza Building, Seibu & Illumine. Location wise very convenient cuz the trains were a stone throw away ( less than 5minutes) - JR, Seibu & Tobu line.

cross over from the back of our hotel

shopping mall just across the street.

Mother's Day was just around the corner, saw many beautiful flowers for sell.

Lunch at a cafe situated at Tobu Shopping Mall. Servings are generous and yums!

wax display of the food.

After lunch we went supermarket shopping. Madness! It's like SIN Takashimaya basement but x20 more food stalls selling lots of yummy food and beautiful cakes.. I swear that I wanted to try every single food item. Everything look so yums. Japanese indeed is so particular of packaging , even if you buy a stick of yakitori they'll pack it nicely into a bag and give you wet tissue so you can wipe your mouth. Service excellent.

the mini watermelon & rock melon that cost SGD30 over..

Walked around the subway stations and we saw this stall selling home-grown veggies & fruits.. Mushrooms, asparagus, strawberry, onion, raddish, long beans etc etc...

Drink dispensing machine is everywhere in & outside of the stations. You don't see them littering at the stations, instead you'll see them disposing the bottles in the recycle bins. Singaporean should be put to shame. In a way, we will never be able to be so environmental friendly.

Then as the skies turn dark, my uncle & ah ma went back to the hotel to rest. Cuz day 3 ww'll be going to see snow & to sit the bullet train weeEe wEeEEe... So after parting our ways I continued exploring, to shop alittle more.

Shops in Japan close around 9pm, departmental store close about 9.30pm. By then the only ones that were open was the restaurants and fast food eatery, Left with no choice I tried to find my way back to the hotel. Confused cuz everywhere look almost the same, so I asked the man selling Tako Pachi for directions.  Couldn't resist so I bought a box back to try. =P

dinner - pork with agedashi tofu & Tako Pachi Octopus

my loots for today. make-up remover wipes, maskes, mascara & lip balm.
