Ever have the feeling of trying to offer advises yet it seems like you're wasting your time??
Oh well..
For the very last two days, I've been so busy.. Cause my dear baby is unwell.. High fever, coughing, flu and of course body aches which often comes along when there's fever..
I was so worried when the doctor told me that his temperature was 39degress!!
Used the most common method of putting a cold towel over his forehead... Kept repeating it for so many hours because the fever just won't subside! Nearly cried caused he was way too hot.. Thank God, his temperature went down alittle at about 8+..
Scare the 'shit' out of me!! It's the first time he's running such a high fever..
Though he's feeling much better today.. But there's he's still feverish.. Just kept drowning him with lots and lots of water.. I think he drank more than 2 litres..
Tried cooking ABC soup - carrot, potato & pork rib soup.. First time cooking a non Campbell soup.. I didn't even know how much the individual ingredients weigh.. The recipe I found online, most were how many grams of this and that....
And it's my first time buying the ingredients from a wet market.. I bet the stall vendor was laughing at me.. Cuz when the Aunty ask me how much ($) of pork do I want? I told her I don't know... =.=
Basically this time round was trial and error.. Didn't know how heavy the carrot, potato and porky weigh.. So I just used 1.5litres of water, dump all the ingredients bring to a boil then simmer the soup..
I felt that more carrots can be used, so there will be more sweetness.. Perhaps more porky too.. The meat was tender very well cooked.. The potato and carrot was soft.. Just as it should be.. The soup needs more flavors, perhaps I've added too much water with too little ingredients?
Still I'm very happy with the outcome.. For a first timer, I think I did well!! Lol!!!! Cuz I'm a very fussy eater, if I will drink it.. Means it's not that bad!! Will improvise on the recipe and give it a go again.. Quite a simple soup to make..
If you want it to taste better simmer in a slow cooker rather than a stainless steel pot.. The best would be 3-4 hours.. Then all the goodness will be in the soup..
Gonna hit the sack.. Good night!!
